The 12th edition of International Exhibition of Internal Security and Civil Defense (Milipol Qatar 2018), a leading international event in the field of internal security and civil defense and the largest since its launch, has opened up wide prospects to strengthen partnerships with global firms specialised in security and safety. Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani inaugurated Milipol Qatar 2018 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. Organised by the Ministry of Interior and the French-based Comexposium Security, Milipol Qatar includes five country pavilions — including the UK, Germany, Italy, France and North America with 90 exhibitors from Qatar— with a 30 percent space bigger than in 2016. The total number of exhibitors participating are 219 exhibitors from 24 countries.

Milipol Qatar, which is held every two years, along with the Milipol Paris and Milipol Asia-Pacific represent the world’s leading international network of events dedicated to solutions, technologies, and innovations for homeland security. The exhibition allows official delegations, visitors and dignitaries to get acquainted with the latest products and innovations. The participating companies are showcasing latest equipment and devices, and innovative services in the field of homeland security and civil defence. Qatari companies also introduced a number of military products, some of them manufactured in Qatar.

Defence specialists from Qatar, France, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain, Morocco, UK, and USA, as well as seven new countries that include Greece, India, Latvia, Morocco, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland showcased their innovations to Qatar in various fields such as public security, defence solutions and equipment, telecom security and technologies, firefighting, and more. On the sidelines, a Partnership Agreement in Security Training was signed between Lekhwiya, and French National Gendarmerie. The Ministry of Interior also signed an agreement to exchange information, training, development and entry and exit procedures with its counterpart in Australia.

Director-General of Public Security, H E Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi  said Milipol Qatar is one of the most important exhibitions at the regional level, and enjoys a particular importance not only to Qatar, but also to many countries that are concerned with modernizing their security services and systems by acquiring the best of modern technology in the field of internal security services and systems.
