To simplify and facilitate procedures for employers and to provide more protection to expatriate workers coming to work in Qatar, another visa center has been inaugurated in Islamabad. It is the first Qatar Visa Center in Pakistan while the second one will be inaugurated today in Karachi. Earlier in October, Qatar Visa Center was opened in Sri Lanka while two such visa centers were opened in Bangladesh in this month.
These centres will operate based on an integrated electronic system for the implementation of procedures such as medical examination, fingerprint and biometrics, and the signing of work contracts for expatriates outside the State, under the supervision of and follow-up by the authorities concerned within Qatar. This step clearly reflects Qatar’s keenness to ensure the protection and safety of expatriates, as the Qatar Visa Centers abroad will enable the completion of recruitment procedures through one channel easily within a shorter period.
The service aims to ensure the speedy completion of expatriate workers transactions to start work immediately after entering Qatar, and avoid cases that the workers return to their home country if it found they are incompetent (sometimes on medical grounds) for the purpose for which they were recruited.
On the occasion of inauguration of Qatar Visa Center in Islamabad, Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, Saqr bin Mubarak Al Mansouri said, “In the context of strengthening the distinguished relations between the two countries, and the keenness of the State of Qatar to support these relations, the State of Qatar has decided to choose Pakistan as one of the first eight countries to launch two Qatar Visas Centers in Islamabad and Karachi. This is in order to facilitate the recruitment of skilled labour from Pakistan, as well as to provide the required services for obtaining visas to the State of Qatar for the purpose of (visit and residence).”
The Ambassador also stressed on the decision of the State of Qatar to increase the number of Pakistani workers in Qatar whereby the State of Qatar will bring professional and semi-professional cadres of Pakistanis migrant workers to work on the infrastructure projects currently underway in Qatar in the framework of hosting the World Cup 2022.
By opening these Visa Centers, Qatar is in fact ensuring best practices and customer satisfaction through reducing the time for process completion. Through the Qatar Visa Center, those who leave for Qatar for employment, can complete medical test and sign work contract before their departure to Qatar and this step is an evidence of the keenness of the government of Qatar for ensuring the protection and safety for expatriates coming to Qatar for work.
