As part of its policy of extending its geographical reach, Israel is once again employing the tactics of demolition of Palestinian homes by force, giving lame excuses. Israeli forces demolished scores of apartments that belonged to Palestinians on the outskirts of Jerusalem on Monday in the face of protests from the helpless Palestinian people.
The State of Qatar was the first country to denounce the heinous crime committed by the Zionists in the town of Sur Baher, southeast of the occupied Jerusalem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the demolitions violate the historical rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and is a crime against humanity that reflects the Israeli government’s disregard for international laws and resolutions of international legitimacy.
The statement stressed that this crime calls for urgent international intervention to oblige the Israeli entity to stop the demolitions and to provide protection to the Palestinian people.
It reiterated Qatar’s full support for the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people until all their legitimate rights are restored, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state on the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The occupational force of Israel is pursuing the policy of land grabs, ejection of Palestinians from their legitimate homes and demolition of buildings relentlessly to expand the territory of Israel and in a bid to obliterate the Palestinians from the world.
The occupying state has taken advantage of the international laxity and is trying to implement policies of Judaisation and settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem through the construction of settlements and the expansion of existing ones through land confiscation, demolition, expulsion and construction of bypass roads to serve the settlement.
Israel, through the demolition, has cancelled the classification of the territories and its obligations to the Palestinian Authority. It is trying to impose a claim contrary to international law through legitimisation of settlements, theft of natural resources, violation of human rights and racism.
If the international community, led by the United Nations, continue to turn a blind eye towards the sufferings of the Palestinians, the legitimate lands of the Palestinians will be wiped off from the world map, which should not be allowed to happen.
Qatar’s position will remain firm and permanent in supporting the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people will endure till all their legitimate rights are restored and the establishment of their own independent state on the borders of 1967 with their flag fluttering in East Jersusalem, their capital.
