The State of Qatar stands firmly by the side of the Palestinian people, expressing unwavering support for their just struggle to reclaim their land, sanctities, and rights. In the face of relentless attacks by Israeli occupation forces targeting civilians and essential facilities such as hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, refugee shelters, and UN facilities since October 7, the consequences have been devastating, resulting in the loss of over 20,000 lives, predominantly children and women. The occupation authority has further exacerbated the situation by severing basic necessities like water, food, medicine, and fuel for all residents of the Strip, demanding urgent intervention from the international community and compassionate aid from friendly nations.

In response to this dire humanitarian crisis, the State of Qatar has dispatched numerous planes carrying urgent assistance to Gaza. Various Qatar foundations, including the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), have initiated concerted efforts to provide immediate and practical solutions for humanitarian support in the Gaza Strip. Through its Al Fakhoora program, EAA, in collaboration with partners, has unveiled groundbreaking projects with a total value of QR 33 million, aiming to assist over 233,000 children and youth affected by the ongoing conflict.

Recognizing the critical importance of mental health, the EAA Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF, is offering services to 51,000 individuals, including 35,000 children, 15,000 caregivers, and 1,000 frontline workers. This initiative seeks to safeguard the mental well-being of those affected by the crisis. Additionally, EAA is collaborating with Save the Children International to distribute recreational and winterization kits, along with creating safe learning spaces for 8,000 children and 6,230 caregivers, enabling out-of-school children affected by the conflict to resume their education. The foundation is responding urgently to critical needs in Gaza, providing mental health and psychosocial support to crisis-affected children and adolescents. The initiative also includes offering hot meals for out-of-school children and delivering essential hygiene and menstrual health kits for girls and women. Prioritising the rebuilding of hope through education, the EAA Foundation plans to grant 100 scholarships to Palestinian children and youth in Qatar, focusing strategically on vital fields like medicine and engineering essential for Gaza’s recovery.

With a collective approach at its core, the EAA Foundation’s efforts in Gaza address complex challenges through innovative partnerships. This comprehensive package is made possible with the support of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the General Directorate of Endowments (AWQAF), as well as collaboration with Unicef, UNFPA, Save the Children, the University of Doha for Science and Technology, and a joint initiative between Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity.
