Qatar as a proud nation rallied behind its leaders to celebrate the National Day with pomp and fervour. Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani led the people in celebrating the proudest moments as a cross section of Qatar’s community, citizens and expatriates, gathered along the Corniche to greet the leadership and witness the dazzling parade of the nation’s military might and economic achievements.
The 11th National Day celebrations fell exactly on the 562nd day since the imposition of the unjust siege by the neighbouring countries on the country with the intention to undermine the sovereignty of the state. But under the visionary leadership of H H the Amir and with the blessings of Allah the Almighty, Qatar could beat all the odds by turning the blockade into an opportunity and taking the people to unprecedented growth, development and achievement.
The participation of H H the Amir and H H the Father Amir in the National Day celebrations is a message to the entire world that the people of Qatar are united and will not allow anyone to impose hegemony on their beloved country. The spectators who thronged the Corniche is a testimony to the unity, cohesion and solidarity among the people with their leadership. The spectators were overwhelmed with joy and emotion when H H the Amir walked along stretch of the Corniche street greeting the people and exchanging pleasantries. It was powerful gesture telling the people that their beloved leader is one among them, who feels for them and who always strives to ensure the welfare of the people.
The National Day this year was held under the theme ‘as long as it was proven by our deeds… Qatar will remain free’, reiterating that Qatar is on a clear and firm path to achieve the goals it targets by enhancing the sustainable development and comprehensive urban renaissance and by establishing and augmenting models in different sectors of growth.
Qatar has established the era of self-reliance and built its independent model after restructuring its import routes and the sectors of agriculture and industry, diversifying its partners, developing infrastructure, encouraging internal and external investments and supporting the policy of achieving self-sufficiency in order to turn the blockade into an opportunity to get rid of the consequences of any economic or political restrictions by the blockading countries.
Under its wise leadership, the State of Qatar is marching towards the pinnacle of development and growth setting a model for other countries to follow. The country has proved its steadfastness and perseverance when it was confronted with a crisis and the country has come out of the crisis not only unscathed but more powerful, holding its head high. Qatar will definitely be celebrating thousands of National Days to come.
