After providing numerous opportunities to people of Qatar to grab retail offers and enjoy quality entertainment, ‘Summer in Qatar’ program has finally concluded. Thousands and thousands of people from Qatar and abroad fully availed the weeks-long program with a number of exciting indoor and outdoor experiences.

This year’s ‘Summer in Qatar’ introduced a wide range of entertainment programs featuring local, regional and international artists; edutainment; summer and sports camps as well as special promotions on inbound travel, hospitality and shopping from June 4 to August 16.

Summer in Qatar program not only offered an array of quality entertainment experiences to residents of Qatar but also played a role in promoting country’s tourism sector.

Under the program, Qatar Airways had offered a discount of 25% on all flights to Doha from more than 160 destinations worldwide, for travel to Qatar anytime from May 30, 2019 to August 16, 2019.

Qatar Airways long-haul passengers could also take advantage of +Qatar, a unique stopover package, in partnership with QNTC, designed to give travelers transiting through Qatar the opportunity to discover the country with free luxury hotel stays and complimentary transit visas.

A wide range of hotels and hotel apartments had also offered discounts of up to 25%, valid for stays between June 4, 2019 – August 16, 2019 along with several additional incentives and promotions at facilities.

The Summer Entertainment City at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre also offered a plethora of family fun activities in addition to activities and entertainment at malls.

Under ‘Summer in Qatar’ program, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) also organized a number of entertainment shows and colourful attractions to celebrate Eid Al Fitr in June and Eid Al Adha in August.

The 8th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) also brought a galaxy of hundreds of South Indian film stars to Lusail Sports Arena under Summer in Qatar program.

Millions of passengers passing through Hamad International Airport (HIA) also got an opportunity to experience and learn about Qatar’s rich hospitality and culture, through an array of summer activities which will be organised  by HIA, in collaboration with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC), Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free, under ‘Summer in Qatar’ programme.

Now, the biggest Summer in Qatar program has wrapped up with the third and final raffle draw at the Mall of Qatar in which eight shoppers won cash prizes worth QR300,000, while one lucky winner took home the grand prize: a McLaren Spider 570s (2018 model).

Without doubt successful conduct of Summer in Qatar program has proved to be a potent push for country’s tourism and economy sectors and such activities should continue throughout the year in one way or another.
