At a moment when the world’s political landscape is marked by fragmentation, mistrust, and escalating uncertainty, the State of Qatar continues to stand out as a steadfast advocate of dialogue and principled engagement. The annual forum remains one of Qatar’s most influential contributions to global cooperation.

Doha Forum is a reflection of the nation’s diplomatic identity, providing a platform where diverse ideas meet to address issues constructively and pursue collective solutions with sincerity.

Creating this platform to bring together heads of state, government leaders, policymakers, academics, and representatives of civil society, the Forum underscores Qatar’s conviction that global challenges, from geopolitical conflict to climate transitions, need cooperation rather than isolation. Hosting this platform reinforces Qatar’s reputation as a trusted mediator and an engaged regional and global actor.

This year, that commitment was made unmistakably clear with the inauguration of Doha Forum 2025 by the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, under the compelling theme “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.” The opening ceremony welcomed an array of global leaders and dignitaries, further cementing the Forum’s status as a premier international platform for dialogue.

In a powerful gesture, H H the Amir presented the Doha Forum Award to Alex Thier and Saad Mohseni, honoring their dedication to advancing children’s education in Palestine and Afghanistan through their partnership with the Education Above All Foundation. Their recognition highlights the Forum’s commitment not only to global policy discussions but also to tangible humanitarian impact.

During the opening session, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani articulated Qatar’s unwavering belief that justice is not a theoretical ideal but a practical foundation for global stability and peace. He emphasized that Qatar’s foreign policy is rooted in aligning words with actions, guided by principles that serve humanity and uphold dignity. Central to this approach is Qatar’s enduring role as a mediator to foster dialogue, facilitating negotiations, and offering impartial platforms where disputes can move toward resolution. His Excellency highlighted Qatar’s notable success in securing a breakthrough agreement between the Government of Colombia and the self-designated “EGC” group, achieved in cooperation with Norway, Spain, and Switzerland. This milestone, announced just a day before the Forum opened, stands as a vivid testament to Qatar’s belief that peace begins with inclusion, empathy, and the willingness to build common ground.

The Forum’s forward-looking agenda ensures that discussions are not confined to acknowledging problems but oriented toward practical, just, and sustainable solutions. Whether addressing global governance, climate challenges, humanitarian crises, or the rapid rise of transformative technologies, the Doha Forum promotes transparency.

The Forum presents Qatar’s vision of a world where conversation prevails over conflict, where principles triumph over expediency, and where justice is not merely pledged but practiced. As global uncertainties multiply, such a platform becomes indispensable.
