The importance of quality education to all has been stressed time and again by H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), at various global platforms in her effort to help the millions of kids who are out of the classroom in conflict zones to learn and blossom into a responsible global citizen.
It is Her Highness’ belief in the power of education as a tool for positive change that led to the setting up of QF 25 years back in 1995. In its 25 years of existence, QF has ushered in many transformative changes in the field of education and research through its institutions and the various initiatives it organises throughout the year.
Over time, these have made a huge positive impact in the lives of millions who are directly or indirectly connected to the Foundation. “We focused on building our education ecosystem based on our heritage not against it. And looking at the activities here today, I was pleased to see how proud and confident the Qatari youth are in their culture and identity, and in speaking the Arabic language. This is what we have been aspiring to create through Qatar Foundation, as well as throughout other educational institutions in Qatar,” H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser said at ‘I AM QF’- an event held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the organisation.
It is not only through classrooms that Qatar Foundation serves communities in a productive way. The global summits it hosts, like the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) and World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), contributes in a big way to bring together global healthcare professionals and educators respectively to brainstorm and share the latest trends, innovations and best practices to help bring in transformative changes in the lives of people around the world.
Qatar Foundation has over 50 entities working in education, research, and community development. While bringing in the best educational institutions to Qatar and funding scientific and technological researches, QF also does a lot of work in preserving the culture of the country and make youngsters aware of the heritage without losing focus of the future. Like mentioned on their website “at the heart of everything we do is the knowledge that our future lies in unlocking the most precious resource of all — human potential.”
This is the underlying philosophy of the organisation and with all their initiatives they are sure to be a catalyst in unlocking that potential globally.
