After a successful hosting of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix last month, the state-of-the-art Lusail International Circuit (LIC) is set to host world’s best riders at the MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2023 later this month.

The iconic venue remained filled with spectators throughout the three days of action during the F1 gala and it is expected to be the same during the MotoGP spectacle.

Tickets for the high-octane racing contest set to take place from November 17 to 19 are selling fast as fans would be in for a new experience at the world class LIC which is hosting the MotoGP for the first time after undergoing extensive remodelling.

The venue enhances the fan experiences through increased capacity of the grandstands, facilities, and car parking lots, getting thumbs up from the spectators who attended the Formula One weekend.

Since hosting its inaugural race in 2004, the Lusail track has been one of the favourite circuits for teams getting the best out of riders due to its tricky nature. The Qatar race is the only race in the MotoGP calendar to be held at night.

Apart from action that includes practice, qualifying session, exciting sprint and the nail-biting showdown on the final day, plenty of entertainment options will be available for spectators at the fan zone.

With the race for the championship title expected to go down to wires, the Qatar race, which is the penultimate event on the MotoGP annual calendar, is expected to play crucial role in determining the world champion. Reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia currently holds a 13-point lead over challenger Jorge Martin with both the riders looking to pick up maximum points in the Malaysia MotoGP on November 12 before heading to Qatar.

The Grand Prix of Qatar has played a vital role in making the country as the hub of motorsports in the Middle East. Qatar will continue to host the MotoGP until at least 2031 in addition to the Formula One.

The last month’s Qatar Grand Prix was the second F1 race at LIC after it made a successful debut in 2021 following a 10-year deal. The F1 extravaganza will continue until 2032.

Besides, Qatar will also be home to the World Endurance Championship (WEC), set to make its debut in March next year as “Qatar 1812”. The race covering around 1812km and lasting under 10 hours, is named after the date of Qatar National Day, a pillar of celebration every year on 18 December (18/12).
