Global indifference to Gaza plights

Today marks the completion of three months (90 days) since the onset of the war in Gaza. Unfortunately, the only positive aspect of this conflict is that the aggressive actions by Israeli forces have not yielded any significant accomplishments. The concealed objectives of the war, gradually revealed by ministers of the far-right government, aimed at deporting Palestinians to neighbouring countries and rendering Gaza uninhabitable while dismantling the resistance. Fortunately, the steadfastness of the Palestinian people has thwarted these plans, despite the tragic loss of over 22,000 lives, more than 70% of whom are children and women.

The relentless shelling, missile strikes, jet, and drone attacks persistently target various locations across the Gaza Strip, entering its fourth month. The Israeli occupation aggression has claimed over 22,000 lives and extensively damaged the Gaza Strip’s infrastructure. Constant bombardments focus on evacuation zones, and designated areas where the Israeli military instructs people to seek shelter, emphasizing that there is no safe place in Gaza. This coercive strategy aims to force people into becoming refugees in neighbouring countries. However, it remains an elusive Israeli dream unlikely to be realized, albeit at the potential cost of higher future consequences for Israel.

The failure to achieve stated and unstated goals in Gaza and the West Bank has led Israeli occupation forces to extend their aggression beyond borders. In a blatant violation of states’ sovereignty and international laws, Israel has started targeting leaders and members of resistance forces in Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq. Recent days have seen escalated attempts, including the assassination of Deputy Hamas leader Saleh Al Arouri in Beirut, bombings in Kerman, Iran, resulting in significant casualties, and a drone strike in Baghdad targeting a senior commander of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF).

These actions signal a potential expansion of Israeli aggression across the region. Concurrently, the international community remains largely indifferent to the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli entity continues its intense and unprecedented aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 90th day in a row, launching dozens of air strikes and bombardments by land and sea, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs, predominantly children and women. While there are still thousands of martyrs wounded under the rubble and on the roads, they have not been recovered due to the continuous bombing. UN humanitarian organizations have repeatedly expressed deep concerns for civilians caught in the conflict, highlighting the imminent threat of starvation and disease in densely populated areas. Tens of thousands of people have fled intense bombing campaigns, yet the international response to alleviate the suffering has been minimal.
