Doha: Qatar’s Rashid Nawaf (pictured) clinched the International Tennis Federation for Youth title after defeating Serbia’s Marko Milosevic 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 in the final in Manama, Bahrain yesterday.
The Qatar player reached the final after a 6-4, 6-2 victory over China’s Yahan Zhang in the semi-final. He had defeated Belgium’s Ethan Dasat 6-1, 6-3 in the quarter-final. In the first two rounds respectively, Nawaf outplayed USA’s Moaz Malik 6-1 and 6-1 and French opponent Shai Sarvati 6-0, 6-1.
