Shuttlers back in action at Doha’s NVBS

New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS) which had to close their badminton coaching facilities and outdoor sports activities on account of Coronavirus Pandemic is back in action after a five-month long break.
The badminton sessions and the outdoor training facilities at the NVBS twin training venues have commenced operations with certain regulations in place.
Training sessions for both boys and girls have started at Cambridge School in Abu Hamour and American Academy in Al Thumama this week.
A host of children who were attending classes before the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown are excited to be back for training.  
“The lockdown period was one of the difficult phase of our life. After almost five and half month gap we are back for training under our coaches. It feels nice to be on the courts and carrying out the drills under the expertise of our trainers,” said 14-year-old Rajat Raj Ramesan, a student of DPS-MIS Doha school.
“Before the lockdown we used to train for two sessions, in the morning and in the evenings, but during the lockdown we had to train on our own at home,” said the class-IX student.
“I am happy to train again at New Vision Badminton Sport under Chief Coach Manoj Sahibjan and his group of dedicated coaches,” said Rajat, who is looking forward to take part in international competitions once travel restrictions ease and the situation improves on a world wide scale.
The parents too are happy to see their children get back to their training schedule and maintain an active lifestyle.
“My children were eager to be back on court so when the badminton training sessions started, we encouraged them to return to coaching,” said Shyja Sudhir, whose daughter and son, are training under NVBS coaches.
The former Qatar Badminton Association coach, Manoj has been into coaching for the last 25 years, having coached several players in India, Maldives and in Qatar.
“The New Vision Badminton Sport have been following all the regulations and effective guidelines have been issued to parents and children. As parents, we are making sure our children follow and practice was is need from them at the training venue, both on and off the badminton courts,” added the Mumbai-born Shyja.
