DOHA: Seasoned beach volleyballers Cherif Younousse and Tajin Ahmed of team Qatar-3 emerged champions at the inaugural Emir’s Beach Volleyball Cup when they beat Qatar-1 by a margin of 2-1 in the final yesterday.
The tournament was held during the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Winter Camp.
Team Qatar-1 included Julio and Martinez. Younousse and Tajin Ahmed reached the final after beating Al Shamal while Qatar-1 outplayed Al Khor 21-14, 21-8 in the semi-finals.
In the third place play-off, Al Shamal defeated Al Khor 2-1 to book the podium spot.
Secretary-General of the QOC, Jassim Rashid Al Buenain crowned the champions at the presentation ceremony.
