London: The world's aid agencies said that tens of millions of people are threatened by hunger and diseases due to "strongest El Nino" which is likely to increase its danger in 2016.
In 2015, El Nino has already created weather chaos around the world. Over the next few months, forecasters expect some areas of the world, including the United States, to feel its impacts.
The weather phenomenon is set to exacerbate droughts in some areas while increasing flooding in others, according to the (BBC).
Africa is likely to see the worst impacts with food shortages which are expected to peak in February.
Regions including the Caribbean, Central and South America will also be hit in the next six months.
The United Nations (UN) projected that at least 87 million people in dozens of countries will require humanitarian aid next year, and is seeking a record $20.1 billion to meet their needs.
