Tawasol ‘Community Outreach Program’ begins

RasLaffan Community Outreach Program in collaboration with Toastmasters International & Youth Center representatives recently conducted its kickoff meeting of “Tawasol” the Communication and Leadership programmes for nationals in northern region of Qatar. 
The meeting was conducted at COP Al Khor office which was chaired by Moza Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, Community Liaison Lead. 
“The interest and support we received from members of the youth centres for the Toastmasters programme was very encouraging.  The active participation of these members and their enthusiasm to share the benefits of the Toastmasters programme will go a long way in ensuring that the three new clubs are off to a good start,” Al Mohannadi said. 
The Program Chairman and Division E Governor Nasimudheen Abdul Hameed briefed the attendees about Toastmaster International and its role in improving the Communication and Leadership skills. 
“Every young person has the potential to become a good communicator and leader, but this potential needs to be developed. The programme’s unique, workshop-style design enables participants to develop this potential through practical experience. This project also will concentrate on Women & men empowerment in line with Qatar National Vision 2030,”  Hameed said. 
The Chief Coordinator of the programme and Area 69 Governor, Thomas Philip introduced his team to the attendees.  It was agreed to start four English Toastmasters Clubs, two for adults and two for youth. This initiative was named as “Tawasol” which means ‘Reach and Communicate’ in Arabic. 
Ghanim Al Muhannadi, Chairman, Social Cultural Committee, Al Khor Sports Club, Faraj Muftha Al Kuwari, Chairman, Sumaisma Community centre, Mohammad Al Shurafa from Zakhira Youth Center, Yousef Al Fadala Chairman, Social Cultural Committee Shamal Sports Club, Jana Jassim Al Marakhi from Al Khor Girls Center and Mariam Al Humaidi from Quodorat Center represented the community centers.
