DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 314.25 points, or 3.17 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,232.85 points.
Trading value during last week increased by 85.06 percent to reach QR1.57bn compared to QR851.68m.
Trading volume increased by 35.53 percent to reach 439.53 million shares, as against 324.29 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 12.37 percent, to reach 35,083 transactions as compared to 31,220 transactions.
Market cap rose by 2.84 percent to reach QR564.16bn as compared to QR548.59bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.
The Banking and Financial Service sector led trading value during last week with 49.57 percent of the total trading value. Industrials sector accounted for 17.54 percent. The Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 13.97 percent, and Real Estate sector accounted for 7.63 percent.
The Banking and Financial Service sector led trading volume during last week with 39.64 percent of the total trading volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 22.01 percent. The Industrials sector accounted for 18.76 percent, Transportation sector, which accounted for 7.45 percent.
The Banking and Financial Service led trading number of transactions during last week with 32.48 percent of the total number of transactions. Industrials sector accounted for 24.33 percent. The Real Estate sector accounted for 17.87 percent, and Telecoms sector accounted for 9.00 percent.
From the 46 listed companies 24 ended last week higher, while 20 fell and two remained unchanged.
The QNB led trading value during last week with 24.55 percent of the total trading value. Qatar Fuel accounted for 10.14 percent. The Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 8.15 percent.
When compared on daily basis the QSE index gained 207.38 points, or 2.07 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded increased to 92.09 million from 66.41 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR325.14m from QR203.85m on Wednesday.
From the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 47 saw trading yesterday. From these, 33 companies gained, 8 closed lower, while shares of 6 companies remained unchanged.
Indices of all sectors ended in green zone yesterday. QSE Total Return Index gained 2.07 percent to 18,829.31 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 1.49 percent to 3,919.79 points and QSE All Share Index increased 2.08 percent to 3,004.42 points.
