Doha, Qatar: The Qatar national football team ranked 58th in the world and sixth in the Arab world and Asia, the FIFA world ranking for the month of June revealed yesterday.

Qatar, currently participating in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup hosted by the United States and Canada, advanced three places with a score of 1393.52 points after having occupied the 61st spot in the world in April’s ranking.

Al Annabi's best ranking was in August 2021 when it rose to 42nd in the world after reaching the semi-finals of the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup, when they jumped 16 spots, marking it the best ranking for the Qatar team since the establishment of the FIFA rankings in 1991.

Meanwhile, world champions Argentina remained at the top, while Germany dropped one position to 15th in the rankings.

Argentina lead an unchanged top three, followed by 2022 World Cup runners-up France and Brazil. England moved up one position to fourth ahead of Belgium, Croatia and the Netherlands.

Italy, Portugal and Spain completed the top 10.

Germany are still far from the top 10 and dropped one position to 15th following disappointing performances in the final international matches of the season.
They were held to a draw with Ukraine and went on to lose to Poland and Colombia. The biggest climb of all has come outside the top 100, courtesy of Kazakhstan, who moved up eight positions to 104th.
