Doha: "What a great way to climb Everest and Lhotse," said Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al-Thani on Instagram as she conquered another summit within 24 hours of scaling the peak of Mount Everest.
Within 24 hours of her historial feat in Mount Everest on May 27, Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al-Thani scaled Mount Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain in the world which stands at 8,516 metres above sea level.
"With heavy snow for a couple of days, the ropes were buried deep in the snow on the Lhotse Couloir. But that did not stop us from getting to the top and back down safely," she said in the Instagram caption as she shared photos of the climb.
Furthermore, Sheikha Asma also expressed gratitude for the rest of her team as well as the leadership of well-known mountaineer, Nirmal Purja also known as Nimsdai, the man behind the Netflix documentary, "14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible".

Reaching the summit of Mount Lhotse also named her as the first Qatari woman to ever do so. This follows her historical achievement of reaching the Mount Everest summit on May 27 at 6:30am, raising the flag of Qatar on Earth's highest mountain peak.
