Doha: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) a hosted volunteers promotional workshop for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 at its headquarters to support the sustained efforts of country's Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy to shed light on the valuable role of volunteers.
During the workshop which took place last Tuesday, Director of Volunteer Strategy Department at the SC, Nasser Al Mogaiseeb and the department’s staff, Fatima Al Magid and Kareem Qadiri delivered a presentation on the FIFA World Cup 2022, venues, mascot cultural values, objectives of volunteer strategy department as per the FIFA requirements. The basic conditions of volunteering, volunteering registration measures, volunteering fields, volunteering training locations and post-event gains that volunteers can reach out were exhaustively discussed at the workshop.
This promotional workshop came in the frame of the cooperation with the volunteer strategy department and FIFA, where QOC joins hands with them to interact and promote the volunteer programme and set up a volunteer data base for FIFA World Cup 2022.
The QOC’s Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department spares no effort to help staff participating in mega sport events to meet its strategic goal that states: "Create attractive and ideal working environment for better talents and experiences”. A total of 20,000 enthusiastic volunteers will work across 45 functional areas at official and non-official sites such as stadiums, training sites, the airport, fan zones, hotels, and public transportation hubs.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old on October 1 and be able to speak English while the ability to speak Arabic is an advantage.
No previous experience is needed and candidates from all backgrounds and different parts of the world are welcome to apply.
