Doha: The Ministry of Economy of Commerce underlined that local products contributed to achieving stability in the markets, especially in terms of quantities, quality, types and prices and these products helped achieve self-sufficiency in several sectors.
In statements on the sidelines of the launch of "Qatari Products.. Our First Choice" initiative, Director of Supply Department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce Abdullah Al Kuwari said that the Ministry will launch another new initiative in the coming days to help producers’ better display and market their products.
Al Kuwari highlighted the role of the commercial complexes, which contributed significantly to consolidating the culture of giving preference to Qatari products, and marketing and displaying them in prominent places in their premises.
Al Kuwari stressed Ministry's keenness on consolidating the national product in the markets, even before the unjust siege, when it launched the "Less Than Duty" initiative two year ago aiming to stimulate and support local products.
The "Qatari Products.. Our First Choice" initiative was organized by Lulu Hypermarket in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The Ministry had announced a package of initiatives on the occasion of Ramadan under the slogan "Less Than Duty" which were designed to cover all aspects of the Ministry's activities related to the organization, support and motivation, as well as a number of programs and awareness materials on various consumer and commercial topics.
