Doha: The successful completion and development of the four ‘Warehousing Parks’ as part of a government initiative reflecting the real partnership between the public and private sectors, noted a top official of Qatar Chamber (QC).

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of QC, the country’s oldest and largest private sector representative body, said that the ambitious project, which will provide huge storage and warehousing capacity, will play an important role in keeping the pace with the rapid economic growth and development the country has been witnessing.

The opening ceremony of the Warehousing Parks was held at Bu Fesseela warehousing park in the presence of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, dignitaries, and prominent business leaders.

The completion of this landmark project is in line with the government’s thrust to encourage public-private partnerships (PPPs) in major projects and the contribution of the private sector in the state’s development projects.

The Chairman of the Chamber said that the project of storage areas, which was implemented by four private sector companies in four different regions, was built according to the latest international standards and specifications, and will contribute to support the private sector.

He also said that the increase in the supply of appropriate storage facilities at affordable prices will help improve competitiveness in the market and enhance the role of the companies in the national economy. The project will balance the equation of supply and demand, allowing companies to store raw materials at competitive prices.
