There was no change at the top of the timesheets in the rider's position and that of the team classification after round 4 of the 2020 Qatar Online Racing Championship (QORC).
Popular Qatari rider Saeed Al Sulaiti continued with his fine form, grabbing the honours once again as QMMF impressed against Leopard Racing.
It was Al Sulaiti's second successive win in the new six-leg event that is part of the QORC series. Al Sulaiti had also won the first round last Tuesday. The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) rider was unstoppable once again as his team-mate Abdullah Al Qubaisi finished second to make it 1-2 for the Qatari team.
Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent – who had won the second round in impressive fashion – had led for most of the race but suffered a crash and had to settle for third-spot finish. Al Sulaiti and Al Qubaisi too were error-prone in the 17-lap race set at Spain’s Circuit de Jerez, but the Qatari duo showed some impressive skills in the MotoGP 20 PS4 game.
Al Sulaiti took the chequered flag in 28:01.274 seconds, with Al Qubaisi +6.541 seconds behind the day's winner. Leopard Racing’s Marco Ramirez finished fourth while QMMF’s Jassim Al Thani ended in fifth place.
Leopard’s Dennis Foggia lost his connection in the middle of the race and was given sixth and last position, After four out of six rounds, Team QMMF have 413 points compared to Leopard Racing’s 377 for a 36-point lead.
The fifth and penultimate round will be held at simulated track of Phillip Island in Australia, while the last round is set to be contested digitally at Qatar’s Losail International Circuit.
The series winner will be decided on the collective tally of points the two teams muster over the course of the week.
