Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, met in Doha yesterday with President of the UN COP26 Climate Summit, H E Alok Sharma. Discussions during the meeting dealt with the role played by the State of Qatar’s energy sector in addressing climate change.
This includes Qatar Petroleum’s recently announced Sustainability Strategy, which is aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement, aiming to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, and deploying dedicated Carbon Capture and Storage facilities to capture more than 7 million tons per annum of CO2 in Qatar.
