AFC elections: QFA announces support for Sheikh Salman

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced its support for Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa for a new term in the AFC Presidency at the General Assembly of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur on April 6.

Saud Abdul Aziz Al Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA and candidate for the AFC elections, said in a press statement: “Our position in the Qatar Football Association has been consistent and supportive of H E Sheikh Salman since he assumed the Presidency of the Asian Football Confederation where I worked closely with him. As for Asian football, I and the Qatar Football Association in general, will continue to support H E Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim in his role as President of the AFC and we are fully confident that he can lead Asia in the way required to power Asian football to a bright future.”

Al Mohannadi welcomed the visit of Sheikh Salman to Qatar and said that the visit is in harmony with the spirit of solidarity among the pillars of the Asian football system under the leadership of the current AFC chief.

The AFC President expressed his thanks and appreciation of QFA headed by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani for their support and support, stressing that this support reflects the spirit of unity among the Asian football family and confirms that everyone is walking in one direction in the Asian continent.

Sheikh Salman also praised the efforts of Al Mohannadi in serving Asian football in various locations, highlighting his keenness to unify Asian football.
