Locally grown flowers and ornamental plants are also attracting huge crowds at the second edition of the Mahaseel Festival being held at the southern area of the Cultural Village Foundaiton-Katara.

The festival, which is being held in co-operation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), has been a big hit drawing large number of Qataris and residents since its launch on Saturday.

These shops contain more than 26 varieties of roses, flowers and ornamental plants, displayed according to their colours and forms, embodying an aesthetic palette and beautiful atmosphere.

Yesterday, a lecture on Home Gardening provided visitors information about its importance and the psychological and health benefits. A large number of school students also visited the festival. They had the chance to engage in various activities through different workshops and learnt how to develop their general culture and support their schools’ achievements in terms of agr.

More than 30 stalls from over 22 Qatar farms and six national companies in the food industry offer farm produce, flowers, ornamental plants, milk and honey, besides poultry. The festival also offers a distinctive taste of Qatari food and other specialities and has a relaxation area.  It is open from 9am to 10pm Thursdays to Saturdays until end of March.
