Los Angeles: Twitter posted a net loss of $131.6 million during the third quarter of this year, compared to $175 million in the same period last year.
Twitter reported in a statement that revenues grew to $569.2 million, up from 316 million in the past quarter, adding that the company's financial results exceeded expectations in the third quarter, despite its share price fall.
The statement also reported 320 million monthly active users only modestly up from 316 million in the past quarter and 11% higher than a year ago.
Twitter shares slid nearly 13% in after-hours trade to $27.53.
