Kuala lumpur conference to mull islamic SMEs

Kuala Lumpur: The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) and the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) will discuss strategies for Shariah-compliant Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at a meeting to be held here December 9 and 10.
The Roundtable Meeting titled 'Innovative Strategies in Islamic SME and Value Chain Finance' will be held at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur, organisers said today.
The roundtable will bring together senior executives in charge of SME financing from Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) from various countries.
They will discuss and share the recent developments in competitive and innovative strategies on Shariah-compliant SME and value chain finance.
The meeting will comprise four sessions:- regulatory developments in value chain finance; bringing SMEs into global value chains through Islamic value chain finance: practical insights; strategic insights from SMEs’ perspectives towards Islamic financial services: Lessons learned; and best practices of Venture Capital (VC) as lessons for Islamic SME finance: learning from equity-based SME finance in emerging countries.
