Doha: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced that Al Meera Consumer Goods Company, Qatar’s favourite neighbourhood retailer, as the latest addition to its extensive network of Absher Rewards Programme’s redemption partners.
With this announcement, QIB becomes the first Islamic bank in Qatar to offer its customers the opportunity to shop from their preferred Al Meera supermarkets and hypermarkets across the country using Absher Loyalty programme points. Customers are now able to enjoy Absher reward points redemption for vouchers worth QR50 up to QR5,000, which can be used for shopping at any of Al Meera’s 54 outlets in Qatar.
QIB customers can access and redeem their Al Meera redemption option on the award winning QIB mobile app or by logging on to the dedicated Absher portal (https://absher.qib.com.qa) at any time from the comfort of their homes. Once redeemed, the voucher can be presented to the Al Meera customer service counters at any branch to pay against purchases. All QIB customers are eligible to benefit from the programme by simply registering through QIB mobile app or website, which allows customers to check their reward points’ balance and redeem them for a range of options, like utility payments of Kahramaa, Ooredoo & Vodafone, thousands of electronic & household items, worldwide hotels, airlines tickets and car rental agencies in Qatar and abroad.

Introduced in 2018, the Absher Rewards Programme is a comprehensive rewards programme that allows QIB customers to earn points when transferring their salaries for the first time, open fixed deposit accounts, use their QIB debit and credit cards and register for QIB mobile app and internet banking. Absher points can be instantly used to settle their utility bills (Kahramaa, Ooredoo and Vodafone), book flight tickets from over 900 airlines, book hotel rooms from over 450,000 hospitality properties and rent cars from more than 150,000 car rental offices in 150 cities around the world.
