Bosphorus Summit to be held in Istanbul from November 26

DOHA: H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassem Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, met yesterday with Cengiz Özgencil, President and Founder of the International Cooperation Platform, which is organising the upcoming coveted Bosphorus Summit to be held in İstanbul from November 26-28, 2018.

During the meeting both of them discussed issues of mutual interests, including economics, trade and investment.

The Bosphorus Summit is an important platform that brings together politicians, businessmen and entrepreneurs from various countries in the Middle East and the world. The conference aims to discuss the visions, ideas and experiences of various projects. It also examines the future of international relations and regional cooperation.

The most important issues, and contribute to the promotion and success of trade cooperation between countries, both regional and global. The 8th edition of the Summit was held in the Turkish capital of Istanbul from November 28 to 30,  2017, organised by the Turkish Forum on behalf of the Bosporus World Summit.

The 8th Summit was opened by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for a bright future. The summit was attended by nearly 5,000 people from 90 countries, representing different sectors.

The State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey have close economic and trade relations, which reflected positively on the volume of trade exchange, which during the year 2017 amounted to about QR4.9bn ($1.34bn).

A number of trade agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries, including the Economic and technical cooperation agreement, the encouragement and mutual protection of investments agreement and the memorandum of understanding on facilitating transport and transit traffic to strengthen economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the State of Qatar, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Turkey.
