His Excellency also met with Executive Director of Unicef H E Catherine Russell; Chair of the Board of the Elders, former President of Ireland and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, H E Mary Robinson; Chairman of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations of the Iranian Republic H E Dr. Kamal Kharrazi; President of the International Economic Forum H E Borge Brende; a delegation of intellectuals headed by former US Congress member Jane Harman; a delegation from the Global Advisory Council of the Wilson Center headed by Mark Green; and former Secretary of State for International Development in the United Kingdom H E Rory Stewart, on the sidelines of the Forum. The meetings reviewed aspects of the bilateral cooperation, in addition to issues of common interest.
The 20th edition of Doha Forum kicked off Saturday under the theme “Transforming for a New Era” with the aim of launching dialogue and debate on the critical challenges facing the world, promoting the exchange of ideas, policy-making, and providing applicable recommendations.
