Doha: Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi yesterday guided Casal Des Forets to Big Tour glory in the final round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour.
In what was the 12th and final round of the hugely popular series, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Chairman H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday graced the occasion and later distributed prizes among the season and 12th round winners at Longines Arena Al Shaqab.
Nasser Al Ghazali emerged as the overall Big Tour champion for season 2020-21 after accumulating a tally of 196 points.
The Medium Tour award was clinched by Cyrine Cherif who managed to collect 198 points.

President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani honouring the top riders after the final round of Longines Qatar Equestrian Tour Hathab, yesterday.
Khalifa Abdullah Al Khaldi finished as the overall winner of the Small Tour class with a tally of 200 points from 12 rounds.
Maryam Ahmed Al Semaitt and Asma Yasser Muhammad (dressage) and Hadi Mansour Al Shahwani and Cain Monty (Future Riders) also picked up the overall winners’ trophies.
In the day’s feature event, Al Rumaihi produced a flawless routine with Casal Des Forets to emerged win in the Big Tour class. Casal Des Forets clocked a time of 41.61 seconds as Al Rumaihi won the top prize of QR14,000 in the 130/145cm.
Faleh Suwead Al Ajami (Ulano, 43.44 seconds, QR 11,500) and Nasser Al Ghazali (Quel Homme, 41.29 seconds, QR 8,750) completed the top three.

Also yesterday, Cyrine - one of the most consistent riders in the country - clinched the Medium Tour honours by guiding Brennus Villelongue to a flawless routine in the 120/135cm competition.
Brennus Villelongue clocked an impressive time of 38.44 seconds as Cyrine won QR 8,750 for what turned out to be a commanding show.
“I am very happy that all the hard work put has resulted in the success. Thanks to my coach, and my team-mates for all their support throughout the season,” Cyrine said yesterday.
Rashid Towaim Al Marri, astride Lamm Addiction Z, sealed the second spot. Lamm Addiction Z clocked a time of 39.03 seconds as Al Marri bagged QR 7,000.
Jaber Rashid Al Amri secured the third place with Canavaro De Muze (E.T.). Al Amri won QR 5,250 after Canavarao De Muze (E.T.) clocked a time of 44.24 seconds (4 faults).
Alaa Al Sultan (Magnum D’ A Vena, 51.30 seconds, 5 faults, QR 3,500) and Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi (Cantaro 32, 48.02 seconds, 8 faults, QR 2,450) completed the top five out of eight riders.

Earlier in the Small Tour battle, Alqaqa Adel Nassar guided Fito R to the top spot in the 110/115cm class. Fito R clocked 38.77 seconds as Nassar won the top prize of QR 6,250 in run against the clock.
The second spot was grabbed by Hussain Saeed Haidan who also produced a flawless routine with Viahipi D’Auzay. Haidan won QR 5,000 after Viahipi D’Auzay clocked a time of 39.43 seconds.
Hamad Ali Attiyah, astride Calgary VD Haterbeek Z, finished in third place. Calgary VD Haterbeek Z finished in a time of 44.20 seconds as Al Attiyah won QR 3,750.
Abdulaziz Ghanim Al uaimi (Birddyz, 40.46 seconds, 4 faults, QR 2,500) and Khalifa Sheail Al Kuwari (Quatro Junior, 44.41 seconds, 4 fault, QR 1,750) completed the top five.
Abdullah Muhammad Al Marri, Director of Junior Teams (show jumping and dressage, and the Future Riders) praised the skills of the riders.
“We can see Qatari riders getting confidant every time they ride. The young riders look good during a competition,” Al Marri said yesterday.
“These young riders are getting the exposure and the experience to do well in future local and international competitions,” he added.
“What I see is we are building a good reserve of young riders who can go to be successful international riders. We are confident about this,” he said.
Al Marri praised the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) and Al Shaqab for joining hands to host the hugely popular series that concluded the fourth season yesterday.
He also praised the support of the families for their children during what had been a difficult riding season because of the COVID-19 situation not just in Qatar but around the world.
