QSE index closes at 9,490.14 points

DOHA:  Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 443.96 points, or 4.47 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,490.14 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 0.44 percent to reach QR1.25bn compared to QR1.24bn.

Trading volume decreased by 18.89 percent to reach 389.11 million shares, as against 479.72 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 14.92 percent, to reach 36,799 transactions as compared to 32,022 transactions.

Market cap fell by 4.28 percent to reach QR525.97bn as compared to QR549.47bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 49.54 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 17.93 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 9.74 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 8.68 percent.

Real Estate sector led traded volume last week with 27.63 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 26.47 percent. Industries sector accounted for 22.55 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.24 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 36.9 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.05 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 15.70 percent and Real Estate sector accounted for 12.81 percent.

From the 47 listed companies three ended last week higher, while 43 fell and one remained unchanged.

QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 22.2 percent of the total traded value. Qatar Islamic Bank accounted for 7.86 percent and Masraf Al Rayan accounted 7.86 percent.

When compared on daily basis the QSE index dropped 58.08 points, or 0.61 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded increased to 95.84 million from 69.71 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR366.96m from QR231.87m on Wednesday.

Indices of two sectors ended in green zone and five sectors ended in red zone yesterday. QSE Total Return Index decreased 0.61 percent to 17,669.58 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index down 0.38 percent to 3,517.69 points. QSE All Share Index lost 0.49 percent to 2,861.83 points.
