Mogadishu: Finance ministers from Horn of Africa countries convened Wednesday in Mogadishu to explore ways to strengthen regional economic cooperation.
The meeting brought together ministers from Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya, alongside representatives of the World Bank, the European Union, the United Kingdom, regional and international development banks, and IGAD.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in key sectors, particularly energy and joint economic development, while reviewing progress in regional initiatives and policies that support sustainable growth.
The meeting is expected to conclude with a joint statement reaffirming member states' commitment to deeper economic integration and the effective use of regional resources to advance sustainable development and improve livelihoods across the region.
