Labour Minister stresses importance of joint committees in addressing issues

Minister of Labor, H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, noted the importance of the joint labour committees in addressing various challenges, as they are an important communication and cooperation platform within the establishments.

This came during a ceremony of the Ministry of Labor, to honour companies that have 30 or more employees, and which established their joint labor committees, within the regulations and instructions that gave their employees the opportunity to create these committees, yesterday.

The Minister praised the achievements of companies and establishments at the level of establishing joint labor committees, which is in line with the ministry’s vision and mission to find solutions to all challenges related to expatriate workers, and contribute to enhancing the level of the work environment in Qatar.

He valued the great role played by the joint labor committees in business continuity during the Coronavirus pan-demic by supporting the state’s efforts to address it by raising the level of health awareness among workers, and improving skills and performance in sectors where remote work was adopted to limit the spread of the virus.

The Minister urged companies to establish joint labor committees to take advantage of the positive role they play in terms of enhancing productivity and organizing work, expressing thanks to all those in charge of these committees in all companies and establishments for their distinguished role in work and improving the outputs of labor committees.

This celebration comes within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s keenness to confirm the active role of the labor committees to create a balanced work environment, in which roles and responsibilities are defined, especially with regard to the field of work organization and ways to increase and develop production, means of preventing risks, and the level of commitment to occupational safety and health
