Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA) Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani stressed the importance of bilateral trade and investment relations between Qatar and France.

Delivering a speech at the Qatar-France Business and Investment Forum yesterday Sheikh Faisal recalled Qatar was the first investor from the region to invest in France and contributed to some of the most important French companies.

He said Qatari investments in France included many sectors such as energy, real estate, hotels, financial services, communications and sports. Doha is also a destination for French companies as there are a large number of French companies investing in the Qatari market.

Trade relations between the two countries have achieved qualitative breakthroughs over the last 20 years. Several agreements have been signed. Sheikh Faisal said Qatar’s investments in France have reached about €30bn.
