Doha, Qatar: As part of its commitment to safeguarding public health and improving the urban environment, Al Wakrah Municipality, represented by the General Cleanliness Section, conducted field campaigns to combat insects and mosquitoes between mid-April and mid-August.
The comprehensive plan focused on eliminating breeding sources and spraying various sites across the municipality’s administrative boundaries.
The efforts included spraying 7,803 public waste containers, conducting 51 spraying operations in public parks and beaches, implementing 348 fogging treatments, carrying out 1,711 ULV spraying operations in residential neighbourhoods, and addressing 221 water accumulation sites.
These efforts fall under the broader framework of the “My City is Civilized” initiative, which seeks to enhance quality of life, protect the environment from health risks, and ensure a safe and sustainable living space for residents and visitors of Al Wakrah.
