Vodafone boosts networks across Doha

Doha: Vodafone Qatar has completed its networks enhancement across Doha and initiated the second phase of the process which will entail swapping its remaining cell sites in the country. 
Vodafone began networks enhancement activities in January and aims to finish by September.
It said the initiative is in line with the company’s strategy to provide the population with state-of-the-art telecommunications services through cutting-edge technology, leading to an improved experience and faster Internet speeds. 
Customers in impacted areas may experience a service interruption for a few hours, Vodafone said, adding it will notify such customers via SMS ahead of network enhancements, the company said.
Customers may visit www.vodafone.qa/weareupgrading for updates on network enhancements.

Leaders send greeting cables to Maldives 


Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to Maldives President Abdulla Yameen on his country’s Independence Day.
Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani sent a similar congratulatory cable to Yameen.
 Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable to Yameen.

 

Sudan FM praises Qatar role in  Darfur peace


Khartoum:  Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour yesterday praised the Qatari leadership for its role in establishing peace and stability in Darfur region. 
Speaking to Sudanese Radio, Ghandour said Qatar is one of the most active countries in terms of establishing peace in Darfur.
He expressed the Sudanese leadership’s appreciation to Qatari authorities for their commitment to peace and stability in Darfur.
