Qatar & Nepal chambers ink MoU

DOHA: Qatar Chamber and Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation and exchange of information and meetings.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of a meeting held between Qatar Chamber and a delegation from Nepal led by Vice-President of Nepalese Chamber Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar.

Qatar Chamber’s board member Khaled bin Jabor Al Kuwari said that the agreement aims to encourage businessmen from both sides to establish investment partnerships that would push forward and promote the bilateral relations in the commercial sector in both countries.

He noted that Qatar Chamber is keen to build positive relations with all world chambers and encourage Qatari businessmen to increase their investment abroad.

He called on Qatari businessmen to learn about the investment opportunities available in Nepal and benefit from the investment incentives especially in tourism and agriculture sectors.

Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar said that Nepal has witnessed great economic successes in all sectors, noting that sectors of hydropower is rich of investment opportunities that attract Qatari businessmen.

He said that these is a large Nepalese community in Qatar contributing in the mega projects being held in the country and working at all fields. “Nepal is a big open market, and there are a wide range of opportunities for foreign investors. we want to develop our economic relation with Qatar,” he said.

He called on Qatari businessmen to visit Nepal and explore business opportunities and meet their Nepalese counterparts.

We are in the process of organising a trade businessmen delegation to visit Qatar in order to meet their Qatari counterparts and explore the needs of the Qatari market.
