Doha: Assistant Foreign Minister H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met yesterday with Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy H E Benedetto Della Vedova, on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2022.
The two sides highlighted the distinguished relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing and promoting them, especially in the humanitarian area.
The meeting also discussed the developments in Afghanistan, especially the issue of girls’ education and the operation of the Kabul airport, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
The Italian official expressed thanks to the State of Qatar for its efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan. He also expressed his concern that the deteriorating humanitarian and food situation in Afghanistan would lead to famine in the country.
