QSRF holds General Assembly meeting

Doha: Qatar Sailing and Rowing Federation (QSRF) held an ordinary General Assembly meeting to present and discuss many important issues on the agenda, particularly the QSRF’s activities and external participation during the new sports season 2023.

The General Assembly meeting was chaired by President of the QSRF Rashid Majid Al Sulaiti in the presence of the majority of the members and under the supervision of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) representative Issa Ali Ghanem.

In his opening speech, Al Sulaiti said that QSRF overcame great challenges in 2022 and worked during the last period to support the sports of sailing and rowing by improving performance, enhancing participation, and emphasizing the importance of this sport.

Al Sulaiti extended his thanks to the QOC for its support and to all members of the Board of Directors and employees for their contributions and efforts in implementing QSRF’s vision and achieving its goals.

The Ordinary General Assembly meeting discussed what was achieved during the 2022 season and what the federation aspires to in the new season in terms of increasing events and activities that serve the sport of sailing and rowing and achieving its goal of creating a new generation.

The QSRF’s calendar for the 2023 season includes ten different participation, with three championships in sailing, four in rowing, and three in kiteboarding.

Doha will host in the 2023 season the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup 2023 from Dec. 5-9. Doha hosted a previous round from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4.
