Qatar Gymnastics Federation President and First Vice President at International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Ali Al Hitmi with members of FIG men’s (MAG) and women’s (WAG) Technical Committees.
Doha: The newly-elected members of International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) men’s (MAG) and women’s (WAG) Technical Committee members attended its first meeting at The Torch on Friday.
This was the first get-together of the MAG and WAG experts after the FIG election that was held during the 83rd FIG Congress in Antalya, Turkey last November.
Qatar Gymnastics Federation president Ali Al Hitmi, who is also the First Vice President at FIG, and Qatar Gymnastics Federation Secretary General Ms Abeer Al Bouanain welcomed the guests.
“It’s a privilege to host the FIG technical committee meeting in Doha,” said Al Hitmi.
The meeting comes a week before the 14th Taishan FIG World Cup that will be held at the Aspire Dome from March 2-5.
“It was an opportunity to host the meeting that coincides with the FIG World Cup. After the FIG Congress last November, we didn’t get the opportunity to conduct a meeting of the newly-elected members,” added Al Hitmi.
The MAG and WAG meeting was conducted by MAG TC president Arturs Mickevics and WAG TC president Donatella Sacchi respectively.
The meeting will conclude tomorrow.
