Doha: The North Unit of Marine Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change foiled an attempt to smuggle a large number of seagull Al-Salal type into the port of Al-Ruwais.
Accordingly, a violation was issued against the violators and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry added that following a discussion with the officials from the Environmental Operations Department, the seabirds were released immediately.
The Ministry of Environment warned that it is prohibited to hunt, sell or transport wild animals without obtaining a permit from the Ministry.
