Marking Breast Cancer Awareness month, QIBA (Tajmeel), a section of NAMA Center organised a special session day for the students and academy staff aimed at raising awareness on breast cancer.
The session was held at Tajmeel Academy. Tajmeel provides training courses of the highest caliber within the beauty industry. The Academy also offers short courses and workshops aimed at skills development for personal grooming or non-vocational training.
Professionals who wish to enhance their qualifications with postgraduate training have several additional course options. Whether it’s for personal interest or for career enhancement, Tajmeel’s goal is to offer a world class education and effectively prepare students for success.
According to the common specific color for breast cancer awareness among world countries, the place where the session was decorated pink, offered a buffet full of healthy food and sweets all colored pink.
Paula Marques, experienced nutritionist, and Walaa Al Qadi, makeup tutor and health educator, explained about benefits of every kind of food on the buffet, expressed how it is important having a healthy system food routine as a way to protect ourselves.
Paula Marques, also gave a presentation titled “Food can be a cancer blocker” while Walaa Al Qadi, gave a presentation titled “Beauty and the beast, cosmetics and cancer risk”.
Walaa, Al Qadi said: “It is the time for ladies to take this issue seriously and go to the doctor to take an appointment to check up, the best protection is the early detection”
Talking to The Peninsula, Paula said: “All diseases that come with age can be avoided with age and food because “we are what we eat”. We should make our food our medicine, and our medicine our food.” She added that scientists’ research had revealed that every two women out of eight have a breast cancer nowadays in the world. “They (scientists) expect that in twenty years, this risk will increase to one every three women. We should do something at least what we can do.”
Addressing the gathering Dian, lead beauty tutor of Tajmeel Academy said: “Under the pink October month, it is an honor for us to help women to fight against breast cancer through creating an awareness on the subject.”
