Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmad Tijan began their campaign at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Elite16 in Rio de Janeiro with a solid victory, defeating the Dutch pair Ruben Penninga and Matthew Immers 2-0 (29-27, 21-14) in their Pool C opener.
The Tokyo 2020 bronze medalists held their nerve in a tense first set, edging out the Europeans 29-27, before raising their level in the second to close out the match comfortably.
