Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received at the Amiri Diwan today morning, the delegation of Qatar's team crowned with two gold medals in the High Jump and Weightlifting, and a bronze medal in Beach Volleyball at the Summer Olympics - Tokyo 2020.
His Highness the Amir also awarded Olympic champion Mutaz Barshim the Al Wajbah Decoration, in recognition of his historic achievement by achieving three consecutive medals in Olympic participation and his distinguished representation of Qatari sport.
At the beginning of the interaction, His Highness the Amir congratulated the champions of the Qatar team and the administrative and technical bodies for the results achieved by the Qatar champions during the tournament.
For their part, the champions of the Qatar team (Al Adaam) expressed their thanks to His Highness the Amir for the special care and full support that His Highness accorded to Qatari athletes, stressing their keenness to achieve more future achievements and raise the Qatar flag in the global sports arenas.
