Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index gained 128.18 points, or 1.22 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,631.28 points.
Trading value last week increased by 4.46 percent to reach QR765.05m compared to QR732.37m.
Trading volume increased by 18.96 percent to reach 252.40 million shares, as against 212.16 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 3.14 percent to reach 20,873 transactions as compared to 20,237 transactions.
Market capitalisation rose by 1.26 percent to reach QR584.83bn as compared to QR577.57bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 44.1 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 23.29 percent. Transportation sector accounted for 9.46 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 8.49 percent.
The Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 34.05 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted 25.12 percent. Real Estate sector accounted 17.88 percent and Transportation sector accounted 9.14 percent.
Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 32.98 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted 26.71 percent. Consumer goods and services sector accounted 10.24 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 9.91 percent.
Of the 46 listed companies, 20 ended higher, while 24 fell and two remained unchanged.
QNB led trading value during last week and accounted for 22.33 percent of the total trading value. Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company accounted for 7.54 percent and Masraf Al Rayan accounted 6.72 percent.
When compared on daily basis the QSE index gained 81.53 points, or 0.77 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 54.93 million yesterday from 55.82 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR189.05m from QR175.91m on Wednesday.
Of the 48 companies listed on QSE, shares of 46 saw trading yesterday. From these, 30 companies gained, 9 closed lower, while seven remaining companies unchanged.
Indices of six sectors ended in green zone and one sector in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.77 percent to 19,562.46 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 0.59 percent to 4,087.40 points and QSE All Share Index increased 0.75 percent to 3,137.71 points.
