Ebn Sina Medical signs warehouse automation deal with Italy’s GPI

Ebn Sina Medical - a fully owned subsidiary of Aamal Company, one of the region’s fastest growing diversified companies – has recently signed a new agreement with the Italian company, GPI Group, to implement automation for the Ebn Sina Medical Warehouse, where medications will be properly stored, priced & dispensed automatically with very high speed & accuracy.

The Robot, with its size of around 250 sq metres will be able to accommodate more than 155,000 packs of medicines and dispense more than 25,000 packs per day according to the received orders. This Robot will guarantee the maximum storage capacity in a reasonably small area at the warehouse, with an outstanding speed for loading & dispensing of medications.

This is the second pilot project that Ebn Sina Medical collaborates with its principal supplier, the GPI Group, after the successful automation of Ebn Sina Pharmacy in City Center Doha, with the implementation of GPI pioneering robotic technology for the first time in a private pharmacy in Qatar. Moreover, Ebn Sina Medical Company being the exclusive distributor of GPI Company is proudly promoting GPI technology to all healthcare service providers in the local market in Qatar.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of Aamal Company; and GPI’s International Sales Director Fabio Rossi signed the agreement for the Warehouse Automation, in the presence of Italy’s Ambassador to Doha, Pasquale Salzano, On this occasion, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani: “The Warehouse Automation will be an important enhancement of our operations, as we continue to keep up with the latest technological advancements, and support our subsidiaries to optimize their performance.

At Aamal, we are keen to bring the latest products and solutions to the market, in order to be a pioneer in the market and partner with blue-chip companies such as GPI.” Sherif Shehata, General Manager of Ebn Sina Medical, said: “It’s my pleasure to sign our second cooperation agreement with the GPI Group, our Italian healthcare partner.
