DOHA: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has awarded 100 Misk Account holders a prize worth QR10,000 over the last 20 weeks, and total prizes have reached one million riyals. There are 130 more savers to win the weekly prizes and one lucky winner to get the grand prize worth QR1m.
This week’s five lucky winners are: Mohieldeen Abdalla, Mohammed Al Khalifa, Souad Al Kaabi, Waleid Al Saadi, Mohammed Ibrahim. The draw, which was held in the presence of an official representative from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) and QIB representatives, announced Mohammed Ibrahim as the 100th Misk Savings Account winner.
To facilitate the process of opening a Misk Account, QIB has introduced a feature on its Mobile App that enables customers to open a Misk Account without the need to visit a QIB branch. This allows customers to instantly benefit from earning profit on their savings and enter the weekly draws and the grand draw scheduled in November of this year.
Commenting on this, D. Anand, QIB’s Personal Banking Group General Manager, said, “I would like to congratulate the 100 winners and wish the best of luck for all our Misk Account holders. As we move towards a more digitalized world, we are committed to provide our customers with convenience and instant deliveries. The latest QIB Mobile App update allows customers to open an additional new account, instantly, which has led to an outstanding increase of Misk Account users.”
He added, “The Misk Account is designed to encourage saving by rewarding positive financial habits. As QIB, we understand the importance of savings and we wanted to enlighten our customers and present them the benefits of saving for their future.”
All Qatari citizens and residents are eligible to open a Misk Account for themselves or their minor children. A minimum monthly balance of QR 10,000 is required to be eligible for the weekly draws. To qualify for the grand prize draw, the customer must open the account three months prior to the draw and maintain a minimum of QR 10,000 for each of these months. Every additional QR 10,000 earns the customer one more chance in the draw.
