Doha, Qatar: Birla Public School organised its 22nd Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26 on January 24, 2026, marking a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and youthful energy.

The ceremony commenced with a recital from the Holy Quran followed by the school prayer and the National Anthem of the State of Qatar. Mohammed Mournir Abdalslam, 100 metre National Champion and Farooque Aman, National Long Jump Champion were the Guests of Honour.

The other distinguished guests included the Management Representatives, Chindhu Anthony Rappai, Nevile Lukose and Siddharth Shahani along with the School’s Leadership Team - Principal Dr. Anand R Nair, Vice-Principals MsRadhika Rele and Edna Fernandez, HMs of various sections added value and inspiration to the occasion.

The 22nd Annual Sports Day started off with a warm welcome address by Mr. Albert Anthony, Head of the Department of Physical Education, followed by a colourful dance and martial arts performed by the students, reflecting joy, creativity, and strength. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the house-wise march past, where students from Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune Houses, along with Scouts and Guides, displayed impeccable discipline, coordination, and team spirit.

The Torch Relay Ceremony, symbolising the Olympic values of hope, perseverance, and excellence, showcased the achievements of the school’s outstanding athletes, culminating in the lighting of the flame that ignited the spirit of sportsmanship among all present.

This was followed by the hoisting of the School flag by Farooque Aman. The School Sports Captain, Pratishtha Balwant Dangi, the national gold medallist in swimming and Khelo India Silver medallist, led the Oath Taking Ceremony reaffirming the commitment to fair play and integrity.

The gathering was addressed by Principal Dr. Anand R Nair, who highlighted the importance of sports in holistic education, character building, and leadership development. An inspirational message by Ms. Chindhu Anthony reminiscing the spirit and enthusiasm that comes with every sports day added more flavour to the event.

The Guest of Honour Mohammed Mournir officially declared the 22nd Annual Sports Meet open. The ceremony concluded with the Prize Distribution, honouring young achievers for their exceptional performances, followed by the vote of thanks proposed by the Sports Captain, Naban Jamsheed Backer.
