Doha: WhatsApp users have been complaining of not being able to send or receive messages on the platform since 10am in the country.
While there is no official response from the messaging app, outage tracking website downdetector has shown a spike in the number of users reporting outage since 10am, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from a series of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform. The outages might be affecting a larger number of users.
A Reuters report about Meta outage in India, quoted a Meta spokesperson who said, "We're aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we're working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible".
Many users took to Twitter about the outage.
Ooredoo Qatar also tweeted that "due to global issue facing WhatsApp, you might experience difficulty in using the app".
